The figure of 6.80 home-based staff referred to represents the proportion of staff in the Caribbean employed solely on entry clearance work processing applications from both foreign and Commonwealth nationals.
During 1982, immigration officials at posts in the Caribbean issued 16,105 entry clearances for the United Kingdom.
