§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list all parks and open spaces currently owned by the Greater London council and specify to which local authority it is proposed each would be transferred should the Greater London council be abolished.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneMy Department does not hold details of the parks and open spaces owned by the Greater London council. Our proposals for the future of such assets are set out in our White Paper, "Streamlining the Cities" (Cmnd. 9063). We are, however, prepared to consider alternative proposals for specific parks or open spaces.
