§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will consider raising the level of earnings disregard for people on supplementary benefit to £9 per week as recommended by the social security advisory committee.
§ Dr. BoysonThe level of the supplementary benefits is kept under review in the light of available resources and other priorities. It is estimated that the cost of increasing the £4 earnings disregard to restore its original value would be some £40 million per year.
