§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proportion of police stations in each of the police authority areas where the experimental tape-recording of interviews with suspects is to be undertaken will be included in the experiment.
§ Mr. HurdThe tape recording field trials will take place in four provincial force divisions or subdivisions, and in two districts of the Metropolitan police. The numbers of police stations involved in the field trials, and the total numbers of stations in the respective force areas are as follows. The figures representing the total number of stations in a force area include those which are manned for only part of the day, and those in which interviews with suspects do not normally take place.
