§ Mr. Michael Forsythasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the statutory powers under which he is authorised to make payments of any kind to non-Government bodies, including individuals, the total amount paid under each statutory power in 1982–83 and the number of staff involved in making such payments.
§ Mr. RidleyI regret that the information requested would be disproportionately costly to provide. However, a good deal of information about the payments made by my Department to non-Government bodies is published in the Supply Estimates 1982–83 (Class VI, Votes 1 to 5) and the relevant Appropriation Accounts.
