§ Mr. Michael Forsythasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his reply of 8 July, Official Report, c. 201, what progress he has made with the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities towards the collection of information regarding the amounts spent by local authorities under section 83 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.
§ Mr. AncramFollowing consultations with officials of the convention, the format of the statistical returns relating to the financial year 1982–83 has been amended to incorporate a request for information on expenditure incurred under section 83. Completed returns are being received, but some are still outstanding.
