asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the number of working days lost through accidents and injuries in the workplace for each year from 1970 to the present.

I regret that this information is not available. Benefit records show only the number of days of certificated incapacity due to industrial injuries. The following table gives the figures for each year up to 1981–82, the latest for which information is available.
