asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the cost of the Housing Corporation for each of the last five years.

During the last three years the staff and administration cost of the Housing Corporation have been met by grant-in-aid. Costs in earlier years were funded by a levy on housing association development finance. The figures are as follows:
