HC Deb 24 November 1983 vol 49 c257W
Mr. Norman Atkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the issuing of entry clearance papers to Cypriots living in the Turkish-occupied territory of Cyprus since the Denktash declaration.

Mr. Whitney

It will remain our practice not to recognise travel documents issued by the Turkish Cypriot authorities, nor to endorse them with entry clearances. When a Turkish Cypriot is granted an entry clearance for admission to the United Kingdom it will continue to be endorsed on a separate declaration of identity issued by the appropriate British representative.
