§ Mr. Norman Atkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the issuing of entry clearance papers to Cypriots living in the Turkish-occupied territory of Cyprus since the Denktash declaration.
§ Mr. WhitneyIt will remain our practice not to recognise travel documents issued by the Turkish Cypriot authorities, nor to endorse them with entry clearances. When a Turkish Cypriot is granted an entry clearance for admission to the United Kingdom it will continue to be endorsed on a separate declaration of identity issued by the appropriate British representative.
