Year and Hospital Approximate Cost £m 1978 Withybush hospital, Haverfordwest 7 Prince Charles hospital, Merthyr Tydfil 8.5 1980 Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan 12 1983 Ysbyty Gwynedd (partly open—fully operational in 1984) 31 These are new hospitals built on green field sites. Additionally there have been major extensions and redevelopment to many existing hospitals.
