§ Rev. Ian Paisleyasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many licences to fell trees in Northern Ireland have been refused in each of the last 10 years on the grounds of conservation or amenity value.
§ Mr. Chris PattenSince 1973 the Department of the Environment has made 63 tree preservation orders and in that time five applications for consent to fell have been received. Of these, two were refused.
