§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will erect overhead lighting on the M1 motorway throughout Leicestershire and the remaining stages of the M1 between Leicestershire and London.
§ Mrs. ChalkerI have no proposals to provide lighting in Leicestershire north of the M6 (junction 19). Lighting is currently installed on a short two-mile section of the M1 between junction 14 and the Newport Pagnell service area and will be extended to junction 16.
§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for Transport what figures he has available as to the number of notifiable accidents which have occurred on the M1 motorway in Leicestershire in the last 12 months.
§ Mrs. ChalkerIn the 12 months up to 30 September 1983, 85 accidents involving personal injury have occurred on the M1 motorway in Leicestershire.
