§ Mr. Andersonasked the Prime Minister if she is satisfied with the co-ordination between the Departments 18W of Energy and Defence and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office over the supply of heavy water owned by the Central Electricity Generating Board to Argentina to develop that country's nuclear capacity.
§ The Prime MinisterThe consignment of 143 tonnes of United States origin heavy water recently sold by West Germany to Argentina was not owned by the CEGB, although at one time it had an option to purchase part of it. It is not involved in the sale to Argentina. I am satisfied with the coordination between the Departments of Energy and Defence and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office over the supply of nuclear materials or equipment to any destination.
