§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the progress of the transfer of housing assets from the Basildon development corporation to the Basildon district council.
§ Sir George YoungConsultations between the Department, the district council and the development corporation are proceeding pursuant to directions under the New Towns Act 1981, issued on 28 July. In the light of these consultations we will decide as soon as possible whether or not to issue directions for the preparation of a transfer scheme.
