§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the recent visit by the hon. Member for Edinburgh, Pentlands (Mr. Rifkind) to the Republic of South Africa; and what discussions he had with representatives of the South African Government.
§ Mr. RifkindI visited South Africa from 5 to 8 November as part of a wider visit to the region and met a range of leading South Africans of all opinions. I called on the South African Foreign and other Ministers and discussed with them bilateral and regional issues, including Namibia.
