§ Mr. TrippierThe aid to industry provided by the Department of Trade and the Department of Industry, in each of the years 1978–79 to 1982–83 respectively has been £1,098 million, £2,205 million, £2,802 million, £2,906 million and £2,670 million. The estimated cost in the current year, 1983–84, is £1,879 million. The figures do not include the cost of enterprise zones which are the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment.
