But the main factor limiting expansion of services is the national shortage of state registered chiropodists. It is for this reason that health authorities in the main confine services to the priority groups, which would include elderly and disabled housebound people. The requirements of treatment in a domiciliary visit are matters for the professional judgment of the chiropodist concerned.
