Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has for formal public consultation on the proposals of "Keeping Offenders Out of Court: Further Alternatives to Prosecution", the second report of the Stewart committee on alternatives to prosecution, which was presented to Parliament on 6 July.
§ Mr. AncramAs my right hon. Friend indicated in his answer to the hon. Member for Aberdeen, South (Mr. Malone) on 7 July 1983, he and his noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate have invited comments from a wide range of interested bodies, including legal, medical and other organisations.—[Vol. 45, c.145.] Comments from members of the public would be welcome, preferably before the end of 1983. In accordance with normal practice, a public file has been opened for all comments, except those which we are asked to treat as confidential.
