§ 61. Sir David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to implement the view of the Equal Opportunities Commission that the age for receiving the basic state retirement pension should be equalised between men and women.
§ Dr. BoysonThe Government made it clear in the White Paper "Growing Older" that a scheme which combined a common pension age with effective and worthwhile provision for flexible retirement had attractions and would be kept in view as a long-term objective. The report of the Social Services Committee on pension age, to which we hope to publish a reply shortly, made a similar recommendation.
