§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeYes. This is an important aim of Government policy. The Government are pressing forward with a wide range of initiatives to improve the efficiency of the NHS and in particular, as my right hon. Friend informed the House on 25 October—[Vol. 47, c. 168–69]—with the further improvements that will stem from the report of the management inquiry which was published on that day.
