Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer will be making a statement (the autumn economic statement) shortly and final decisions on the future level of resources to be provided to the Health and Safety Executive will be published in the Public Expenditure Survey White Paper and estimates for 1984–85. The Government will continue to ensure that adequate resources are provided to the executive.
