§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe most recent analysis which has been completed is for the period 1973 to 1980. This suggests that in broad terms about half the decline in the industrial energy consumption in this period was the combined result of price effects and non-price conservation measures, the remainder arising mainly from a combination of output and temperature effects.
