HC Deb 04 November 1983 vol 47 c480W
Dr. Mawhinney

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what percentage of all types of dockets extracted from pension and allowance books are mechanically and physically counted for value and number at Postal Finance, Chesterfield.

Mr. Trippier

I have been asked to reply.

No pension or allowance dockets are mechanically counted for value and number at the Post Office financial accounts department at Chesterfield. Checking is carried out by clerical staff; the detailed arrangements are a matter for the Post Office.
