33. Dr. God manasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what measures he will take to alleviate the problem of unemployment in Greenock and Port Glasgow.
§ Mr. Allan StewartThe unemployment difficulties in Greenock and Port Glasgow are recognised by the fact that the towns are part of a special development area and thus eligible for all forms of Government and European regional assistance. The towns also benefit from the Government's programme of special measures for school leavers and the longer term unemployed.
