§ Mr. Neil Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs which heads of foreign missions in the United Kingdom require their staff with diplomatic immunity nevertheless to pay parking fines which they incur.
§ Mr. RaisonIt is our understanding that the heads of the following 10 diplomatic missions require their staff to pay their parking fines, although the list may not be exhaustive:
- Australia
- Canada
- Denmark
- Dominican Republic
318 - Netherlands
- New Zealand
- Norway
- South Africa
- Sweden
- United States of America
I should add that several other missions, while not requiring their staff to pay their parking fines, are responsible for few parking offences.
