§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will publish in the Official Report details of the action taken by Her Majesty's Government since 5 May 1979 to assist the developing countries.
§ Mr. RaisonThe Government have maintained a substantial aid programme since 1979. For the present financial year 1983–84, the gross aid programme is planned to be £1,130 million, which represents a 10 per 523W cent. increase over the allocation for last year. Detailed figures are available from "British Aid Statistics, 1977–1981" and the "Government's expenditure plans, 1983–84 to 1985–86" [Cmnd. 8789], both of which are available in the House of Commons Library. It is the intention to publish the first annual review of the official aid programme later this year.
