§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Minister for Trade whether Her Majesty's Government have made any representations to the French Government about their introduction of aid to their textile industry through the reduction in the social security charges normally borne by companies.
§ Mr. Peter ReesIn accordance with article 93 of the EEC treaty, we made representations about the French scheme to the Commission. The latter have since referred the matter to the European court of justice. The judgment of the court is awaited.
