§ Mr. RidleyAn estimate of the yield from taxation of unemployment benefits for 1983–84 was set out in the answer given to my hon. Friend the Member for Chippenham (Mr. Needham) on 21 December 1982.—[Vol. 34, c. 497.] The estimated yield from capital transfer tax on the basis of the proposals in the Budget can be found in table 5.11 of the Financial Statement and Budget Report for 1983–84. The estimate mentioned there should be increased a little for the short time that the Finance Act 1983 remains in force.
