§ Mr. Denis Howellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of the circumstances of the resignations of the director and deputy director of the Sports Council, he will withhold further payments of grant pending an inquiry into these circumstances.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneI understand that both officers decided to retire early. These matters are strictly the responsibility of the Sports Council and the individuals concerned. In these circumstances I see no justification for an enquiry or for withholding grant from the Sports Council as suggested.
