HC Deb 12 May 1983 vol 42 cc403-4W
Mr. Norman Atkinson

asked the Minister for Trade if he will ask the Director General of Fair Trading to investigate as an anti-competitive practice the agreement of the major petrol companies to fix the price of four star petrol at 179.1p.

Dr. Vaughan

The Director General is keeping competition in the petrol market under review. I understand he has no evidence that there is a price-fixing agreement among the major petrol companies. If the hon. Member has any such evidence he should get in touch with the director general.
