However, 19,504 people have taken advantage of the scheme in the south west region of the employment division of the the Manpower Services Commission since the scheme was introduced on 3 January 1977. Some 7,566 people within the region are currently receiving payments of the job release allowance; 132 are in the office areas covered by the jobcentres at Camborne, Falmouth and Hayle.
