§ Mr. GrayI refer my hon. Friend to theOfficial Report for 9 May 1983, c. 621–22, giving details of the £13 million to £14 million my Department expects to spend in 1983–84 on research and development into new and renewable energy sources. In the period 1979–80 to 1982–83 my Department spent £50 million in this area. In addition to this financial support, my Department encourages the use of renewable energy sources by making available information on our research, in the form of reports and journal articles, to the extent that commercial confidentiality allows.
