§ Mr. Hal Millerasked the Secretary of State for Transport if, when the new bridge assessment code is produced, his Department will provide generous assistance to local authorities towards the cost of a bridge rehabilitation programme, as recommended by the Transport Committee in its First Report of Session 1982–83 on road maintenance.
