§ Mr. MellorThe reference in paragraph 3.07 of the report relates to a joint review by the Home Office and the Treasury of the current and prospective manpower requirements of the prison service. The review is designed to assist the Government in assessing the manpower requirements of the prison service in the course of the annual public expenditure survey. A first report was produced in August 1982; it is an internal management document and we have no plans to publish it or any subsequent reports.
