§ Mr. Craigenasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in view of Her Majesty's Government's policy of encouraging earlier retirement to reduce unemployment, he will review the present system of earning extra pension by putting off retirement; and if he will consider fixing a date by which this arrangement would cease.
§ Mr. RossiIncrements are intended to compensate the pensioners concerned for the loss of pension over the period of deferred retirement. The Government have no plans to cut the pension rights of those concerned by abolishing increments as well as withholding pension for the period of deferment.
