§ Mr. ButcherEstimates of average gross value added per head, of the lower quartile and of the difference between them for the required sectors are shown in the following table for 1979 and 1980. Estimates relating to deciles are not available.
1982 and (b) to date in 1983 benefited from grants made by the European Coal and Steel Community for 171W redundancy aid under article 56 of the European Coal and Steel Community treaty; and which plants were in receipt of these grants in this period.
§ Mr. ButcherDuring 1982 the European Commission agreed to contribute to benefits for a total of 23,440 steelworkers who had become or were soon to become redundant. The figure to date in 1983 is 2,448. Readaptation benefits are made to individual steelworkers and not to steel plants.
