HC Deb 04 May 1983 vol 42 c96W
Mr. Frank Field

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why it takes an average of eight weeks for a medical examination to take place following a request for such an examination from the mobility allowance unit to his regional office for Merseyside.

Mr. Rossi

A recent analysis by the Department's north western region has shown that, on average, 20 working days elapse between that region's receipt of a request for a medical examination in connection with a claim for mobility allowance and the dispatch of the report to the Department's mobility allowance unit. If the hon. Member has a particular case in mind I should be glad to look into it.
