§ Mr. AlisonOur principal initiative to help such people in the short term is the community programme, which was launched in October last year.
The long-term unemployed can also benefit from our other special employment measures, including the two new measures announced by my right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Budget statement: the part-time job release scheme, and the extension of the Enterprise allowance scheme to the whole of Great Britain.
