Mr. Mason

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many persons are on the hospital waiting list in the Trent regional health authority area; what were the numbers for each type of operation; and what is the estimated waiting time in each case.

The number of patients on inpatient waiting lists in the Trent regional health authority on 30 September 1982 was 73,509 of whom the number awaiting admission to surgical specialties was 72,433.

Information on the type of operation awaited and the estimated waiting time in each case is not available centrally.
