§ Mr. Buchanasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has made a re-examination of the rules and enforcement methods applying to the export of live animals.
§ Mrs. FennerYes. In the light of that re-examination the Agriculture Ministers in Great Britain made the Export of Animals (Protection) Order 1981. We also actively supported the adoption of the further European Community measures to protect animals during international transport which were adopted by the Council of Ministers as directive 81/389/EEC.
