§ Mr. Peter Rees[pursuant to his reply, 21 March 1983, c. 309]: The crude balance of trade between the United Kingdom and the USSR was in deficit by £289 million in 1982, and in deficit by £27 million in 1972. Percentage comparisons between these figures would not be meaningful.
