§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what potential contaminants of food, both fresh and manufactured, are currently subject to statutory limits; and whether he proposes to take steps to extend such limits to other potential contaminants.
§ Mrs. FennerCertain provisions of the Food and Drugs Acts are designed to prevent contamination in food. In addition, the Government impose specific limits wherever necessary in the light of the advice of their independent advisory committees. At present, there are specific limits for the leaching of some packaging materials and for lead, arsenic and fluoride.
