§ Mr. WhitelawI have asked the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis for a report when he has completed an examination of the events in Trafalgar Square, and of the police operation, during the celebrations. The purpose of the examination, which is taking account of the inquest findings, is to assist in the identification and adoption of any necessary lessons for the future. I shall report to the House when I have received and considered the Commissioner's report.
