§ Mr. RossiI receive occasional representations that men's pension age should be lowered to age 60, but have made it clear that the large cost of this simple reduction rules it out as a possibility for the foreseeable future. Other proposals for changes in the age limits for retirement pension were put forward last November by the Social Services Committee and the Government are giving those proposals the careful consideration which they deserve. A full response will be published later this spring.
