§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) whether Zimbabwe's record on human rights will be taken into account by Her Majesty's Government in making decisions on arms sales to that country;
(2) whether Her Majesty's Government will review arms sales and military assistance by the United Kingdom to Zimbabwe.

The Government take into account all the relevant factors, including the question of human rights, when considering all requests for the sale of arms. As regards military assistance to Zimbabwe, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces to my hon.
