§ Mr. PymI was in attendance on Her Majesty the Queen during her recent visit to the west coast of the40W United States and I accompanied her on her visits to Los Angeles and San Francisco. I addressed a private meeting of the World Affairs Council in Los Angeles; and had separate talks in San Franciso with the United States Secretary of State, the Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of Defence. I was accompanied throughout by my wife, two members of my private office and two Special Branch officers. The estimated cost of the party's travel and accommodation ashore is £14,400.
