§ Mr. Fieldasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in relation to police raids on boarding houses in Oxford on the morning of 2 September 1982, he will call for a report from the chief constable of Thames valley police as to (a) who authorised the issue of the 512W warrant under the Firearms Act 1968 under which the raids were carried out, (b) whether firearms, ammunition, or any related items were found on the premises, (c) whether anyone was charged in relation to offences under the Firearms Act 1968 in consequence of evidence found during the raid and (d) whether anyone was arrested in relation to an offence under the Firearms Act 1968 in consequence of the raid.
§ Mr. MayhewSearch warrants relating to 131, 133, 137 and 141 Iffley road known collectively as Nanford guest house, were issued under the Firearms Act 1968 by a magistrate of the Oxford city bench. A man was arrested on 2 September on suspicion of unlawful possession of firearms. No firearms, ammunition, or related items were found on the premises, but, after questioning the man arrested, five air weapons were found on other premises. No person was charged with offences under the 1968 Act.
