§ Mr. John Garrettasked the Secretary of State for the Envionment if, pursuant to his answer of 7 March, he will state the total costs for 1982–83 of the administration of all voted expenditure by his Department.
§ Mr. KingProvision for the running costs of my Department in 1982–83 has been made in the Supply Estimates—Central Administration and Environmental Research (Department of the Environment) Class VIII Vote 5, Sections C- F—£93.3 million—and Administration and Miscellaneous Services (PSA) of the Department of the Environment—Class XIV Vote 2—£267.9 million. The specific cost of administering voted expenditure can not, however, be disaggregated, nor can the cost falling on other bodies, including local authorities, be separately identified.
