HC Deb 11 March 1983 vol 38 c504W
Mr. John Garrett

asked the Secretary of State for the Envionment if, pursuant to his answer of 7 March, he will state the total costs for 1982–83 of the administration of all voted expenditure by his Department.

Mr. King

Provision for the running costs of my Department in 1982–83 has been made in the Supply Estimates—Central Administration and Environmental Research (Department of the Environment) Class VIII Vote 5, Sections C- F—£93.3 million—and Administration and Miscellaneous Services (PSA) of the Department of the Environment—Class XIV Vote 2—£267.9 million. The specific cost of administering voted expenditure can not, however, be disaggregated, nor can the cost falling on other bodies, including local authorities, be separately identified.
