§ Mr. StanleyNo such instructions have been issued as rent officers are statutorily independent. The present Government have, however, continued the practice of their predecessors in issuing notes for rent officers of a statistical and explanatory nature. The relevant explanatory notes relating to sections 60 and 61 of the 1980 Housing Act were rent officer notes 162, 163, 167 and 169, copies of which I will place in the Library.
