HC Deb 10 March 1983 vol 38 c456W
Sir Dudley Smith

asked the Minister for Trade what improvements Her Majesty's Government are seeking on the draft liability directive; what progress has been made; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Vaughan

The Government's position remains as set out by my right hon. Friend the then Minister of State during the debate in the House on 4 November 1980. The Committee of Permanent Representatives has still to resolve certain fundamental questions arising from the draft directive. When it has, we expect the Council working party to resume its detailed examination of the draft.
